Little Tarpon was fostered for 2 weeks in November 2023 and he was adopted over Thanksgiving weekend! My son and his girlfriend (in the photo) worked with him to teach him to sit, stay and roll over- and earned 3 hours a day of high school volunteer hours towards Bright Futures.
This webpage is dedicated to him and we hope we can inspire you to help beautiful beings like Tarpon. Fostering was so rewarding and it helped him learn manners so he could show his best self in a home. Lucky family that has him!

Greta here- I have a cute bark like a turkey gobble am a good girl and I could use a foster or a family to take me on walks- doggy day out! I have been at the shelter since March 30 , 2023. Not sure why cause I am house broken and crate trained and if you travel for a living, I love car rides! If you take me for a doggy day out, I would love to go on a ride with you! My pal, Barbara Jean, was adopted already, so I'm hopin' my turn is next. I've spent time in a foster home and did very well with other dogs, though I do prefer a more laidback friend like me. I'm housebroken and do know sit and love good ole biscuits, but I sure do believe I could learn even more. I'm a low-key gal and love to lounge about on the couch with my squeaky toy. I will spend aaaall day running through the sprinkler and trying to grab the water in the air. I'm also a smart girl and know sit, stay, and come. I normally go to the door when I need to go potty. I also love to go on car rides, but it can take me a few minutes to get comfy in new places, so I do best with slow intros. I am dog friendly but can get overwhelmed with other dogs in my bubble, so I may do best with other laidback pups or as a single pup. When I'm not running through the sprinkler, I am a very easy-going girl and so, so sweet. Can you take me home or on a doggy day out where I can frolic in the sprinklers together- perhaps forever!The staff think I am about 5 years old. I'm a spirited and lovable dog who's always up for an adventure. Alright gang, let's split up and go for a run! Whether it's through lush parks, forest trails, or even urban streets, I'm always ready to lace up my paws and hit the ground running. After an exhilarating jog, I've mastered the art of the post-run nap. My humans think it's pretty groovy that I'm housebroken and crate trained. But the real joy in my life comes from being with people. I'm a social butterfly, and my heart swells with happiness when I get to meet new friends. I've got a wagging tail, a playful spirit, and a heart full of love to share with everyone I encounter. I hope this time there aren't any meddling people and you get away with adopting me!
