About Theresa Rodriguez, Licensed Therapist

I graduated from the University of Florida Counselor Education program in 1992 with my Masters and Specialist degrees in counseling with additional training in couples and family therapy.

I have been in private practice for thirteen years and prior to that, I worked at UF as the Supervisor of mental health counseling services serving new parents and helping strengthen family units. I am proud to say that I enjoy my work and I train in a variety of models of therapy to sharpen my skills, to stay current on the best evidence-based therapies, and to offer my clients the most during their time with me.

I believe that life is short, and anything I can do to help bring peace and greater opportunities for happiness to my clients, is a valuable and meaningful way to spend my life.

I am a seasoned therapist with extensive training in couples therapy (EFT/ Gottman and more), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and trauma modalities such as EMDR, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, guided imagery, visualization and stress management techniques. I addition, I am highly trained in parenting concerns, and with my past experience as a provider for Peaceful Paths for seven years, I have the experience to work with issues related to intimate partner violence. I am currently working with adults and individuals exclusively.
